Why is my Stereo not powering up in my car? Why is my Stereo not powering up in my car? Yesterday I rewired everything completely and it was working fine. I attempted to try a different stereo in my car today so I exchanged them rewired again perfectly and it worked fine. After a few hours I realized this stereo didn't suit me too well so I changed back to my other. I wired everything like I normally would each being bonded together very tight. I ran out of electrical tape so I pushed the stereo in the dash for 1 minutes ran inside the house to grab some tape. I came back and my stereo would not power up. I have LED lights in my car which are connected to the black wire and the red wire and they power up fine. This tells me those two wires are not the problem. What's left is a blue wire and yellow wire. I tried rewiring them both multiple times but still no luck. What could have went wrong? car insurance. Auto parts : > Fuel Pump Relay Mitsubishi 2007. Honda . How to Change the Fuel Pump on a 92 CadillacCadillacs from the the 1992 model year are equipped with an electric fuel pump that pulls fuel from the gas tank and sends it through the fuel lines to the engine. You need to follow a particular set of steps to properly change the fuel pump on a 1992 Cadillac. Prepare the Car Open the gas tank cap to relieve the pressure in the fuel system, disconnect the battery cables and siphon gas out of the fuel tank. Raise the rear of the vehicle on jack stands, disconnect the fuel filler tube from the gas tank and remove the fuel lines from the top of the fuel pump. Remove the Gas Tank and Old Pump Disconnect the fuel tank straps, lower the tank and pull it out from underneath the Cadillac. Remove the fuel pump locking ring with a brass punch and hammer and pull out the old fuel pump. Clean the area where the fuel pump locking ring goes. Install the New Pump Install the new fuel pump and reattach the locking ring. Reattach the fuel lines and the gas tank to the car. Connect the filler tube to the tank and lower the car. Refill the gas tank with fuel and reconnect the battery cables. Turn the car on and test the new fuel pump.
Honda . How to Install a VP44 PumpThe VP44 fuel injection pump enhances electronic rotary distribution. The VP44 pump produces high fuel pressure, meters precise fuel amount, distributes fuel to each cylinder and delivers fuel at exact time intervals during the injection process. The injector pump's design consists of a three-pronged cam ring, rotor and electrical solenoid valve that develops and distributes the high pressure needed during the injection process. Damaged internal components greatly affect the pressure and the amount injected into the engine. VP44 pump installation requires an adequate mechanical background. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Safety goggles Helmet Gloves Steel-toed shoes Clean rag Vacuum gauge Metric ratchet set: 10 to 27 mm T-bar, 75 mm Brake cleaner Mounting screws Cap screws Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the pump's drain line from the t-fitting and plug it with a clean rag. Dislodge the vacuum hose from the drain line. Connect the vacuum hose to the pump's inlet line and allow the fuel to travel back into the fuel tank. 2 Use the vacuum gauge to test the fuel system. The vacuum test must result in 381 to 508 mm Hg. If the gauge reading does not drop more than 2.54 mm, then no leak exists in the fuel system. Check for leaks if the fuel system does not hold more than 2.54 mm. 3 Remove the battery terminal cables, starting with the negative connection. Remove the fuel pump access cap and bar the engine with the keyhole angled at the 12 o'clock position. 4 Disconnect the fuel return and fuel pump supply lines with a 17-mm ratchet. Dislodge the high-pressure lines with a 19-mm ratchet. Loosen and remove the nine-pin electrical connector from the pump's control panel. 5 Loosen and remove the fuel pump bracket bolts with a 10-mm ratchet. Dislodge the crankcase breather gear, nut and washer with an 27-mm ratchet. Use a 75-mm T-bar to slacken the pump drive gear from the pump's drift shaft. Slacken the four mounting bolts with a 13-mm ratchet and carefully pull out the fuel injection pump. 6 Clean the fuel pump gear housing, mounting surface and fuel injector pump housing of excess oil, grease and grime with a dry, unsoiled rag. Apply brake cleaner to the pump's shaft and gear bore. 7 Rotate the pump shaft for proper keyhole alignment. Place the VP44 pump into the gear housing by aligning the pump's mounting flange with the dowel located on the gear housing's rear. Do not allow the gear key to fall into the housing. Avoid the pump's mounting o-ring. Thread the mounting screws and hand tighten. 8 Insert the pump's drive shaft bolt and washer. Torque to 30 foot-pounds with a 24-mm ratchet. Install the pump's mounting bolts. Torque to 32 foot-pounds with a 15-mm ratchet. 9 Position the pump's bracket. Thread and hand-tighten the cap screw through the pump bracket and through the fuel pump. Insert and hand-tighten the pump brace to block cap screws. Install and finger-tighten the pump bracket cap screws through the fuel pump brace. Use a 10-mm ratchet to torque all cap screws to 212 inch-pounds. Tighten the pump's drift shaft nut with a 22-mm ratchet and a torque value of 125 foot-pounds. Step by Step : 10 Insert the crankcase breather. Connect the low-pressure, inlet and fuel return lines with a 17-mm ratchet. Use a 19-mm ratchet to install a high-pressure line at the fuel pump and cylinder head. Attach the nine-pin connector to the fuel injector pump. Connect the battery terminal cables, starting with the positive connector. Vent air from the fuel system. Tips & Warnings Inspect VP44 fuel pump, lines, washers and fittings for any damages. Contact an authorized repair facility for replacements. Wear safety equipment to reduce the risk of injury, including safety goggles, helmet, gloves and steel-toed shoes. *flag and get help. If it's a very hot day and you've been driving in stop-and-go traffic, you may have vapor lock. Occasionally, a vehicle gets so hot that the gasoline boils in the fuel line and forms bubbles that keep the fuel from getting to the fuel injectors or carburetor. The symptoms are easy to spot: Your engine just suddenly stops running, with no prior warning. Happily, the remedy isn't difficult: Simply open the hood, wrap a wet rag around the fuel line between the fuel pump and the fuel injectors or carburetor, and wait for things to cool down. 953

The pressure in the overheated system can cause hot liquid to spray out and burn you. If you don't have a wet rag, wrap aluminum foil around the fuel line and leave it in place after you get started. No aluminum foil? Then just sit there and wait for the darn thing to cool down. Eventually, the vapor lock will go away. If neither of the above seems to be the case, try the following set of steps that applies to your vehicle. Honda . Pontiac GTO. * For Vehicles With fuel injection 1. Try cranking the engine while someone sprays fuel injector cleaner into the throttle body. If the engine starts and then dies, it's a fuel problem. If the engine cranks without firing, it's an ignition system or compression problem. 2. If the engine did start with fuel injector cleaner, find out whether the fuel pump isn't pumping fuel or the computer isn't triggering the fuel injectors. Honda . C Part IV: Dealing with On-the-Road Emergencies. For i/ehictes ufith carburetors 1. Look down the carburetor barrel and push the accelerator pump arm. Is fuel squirting into the venturi? If so, then the float bowl is full, but it still may not be getting a fresh supply of fuel when it needs it. 2. Disconnect the fuel pump end of the hose that leads from the carburetor to the fuel pump (see Figure 21-2) and place the end of the hose in ajar or plastic bag. If you don't have anything to put the hose in, forget this entire procedure. Never let gasoline run onto the ground. It's flammable and toxic to the environment. Also, be sure not to let gasoline run out of the hose onto your clothes or the engine. And if it's very hot, fan the area to disburse the fumes. Somewhere along that line is the fuel filter. The filter could have jammed — especially if it hasn't been changed in ages. Honda . How do you time your 93 grand cherekee 4.0?

If nothing comes out of the hose, you probably have either a plugged fuel filter, a defective fuel pump, or a broken fuel line — or you're out of gas. 4. Try to eliminate the fuel filter as the villain by removing it (Chapter 13 tells you how) to see whether gas comes out of the hose. If you changed the filter recently, ignore this step and look under the rear end of the car to see whether fuel is leaking from a broken fuel line. .Chapter 21: What to Do If Your Car Drops Dead or Won't Start Fire If your engine is getting enough air and fuel, you're probably having ignition system trouble. As I explain in Chapter 4, the "fire" is really electric current that's stored in the battery, replaced by the alternator, amplified by the coil and, in some vehicles, directed by a distributor to each spark plug. (Newer vehicles have distributorless ignition systems — Chapter 5 has the details.) If something along the way goes wrong and the spark fails to reach the plugs, all the air and fuel in the world won't produce combustion in the cylinders, and the vehicle won't go. Because the engine was running before it died, it's probably not the fault of the battery, solenoid, or starter, which brings you to the distributor cap — assuming that your vehicle has one. If you have a distributorless system, you'll need professional help to check it out. Checking the distributor cap Honda . Who's in charge of gasoline?
